Dr.
Ada I. Rivera is a specialist in Internal Medicine working in
the field of Correctional Medicine for the past 18 years. She
has loved animals her entire life and taught her four children
to also love them. Her mascots have included Dobermans and
Boxers. It was also not unusual to find ferrets, bearded
dragons, snakes and fish at different points in time.
In the year 2000 she was introduced to the concept of the
working dog. She visited existing training sites and saw
competitions in French Ring and Belgium Ring or NVBK. That is
when she saw her first Belgian Malinois. Their stamina, agility,
and intelligence was evident in all the exercises they
performed. The aggressiveness with which they worked
demonstrated strong character.

At the same time you could observe a calm,
friendly temperament when they were not at work. After much
research and participation in working dog activities, she got
together with the breeder, Tomas Irizarry, and decided to
develop her own line of working Malinois.
The past four years have been hard work but
exciting. The creation of Winstar Nightwatch Kennel established
a home for Lee Des Orges Foins, a French Ring III from France.
They have already announced 2 fabulous litters some of which are
currently being trained in detection, protection and Ring
sports. The Winstar Nightwatch Kennel working Malinois line
promises to set the pace in Puerto Rico and around the country.
